1.      The League will be represented by a Chairlady, a Secretary, a Treasurer and a Committee of at least four members elected at the AGM annually.

2.      The league is currently run as one division.

3.      Every team that wishes to play must send a representative to the AGM prior to the start of the new season.  Any new team that wishes to join the League should apply in writing to the Committee before the AGM.  Any team wishing to join after this will have to apply to the Committee in writing for a decision.  The Committee reserves the right to deny membership of any team or person.

4.      All players must be registered for the team they represent and must not be a member of another team or league that plays on a Wednesday night in any one season.  The exception to this applies only to Landladies who want to enter the Landladies competition.  Landladies may play in this competition even if they are in another League.

5.      The players’ names must be entered in writing at the time of paying your team’s league fees.  Fees are to be paid at the AGM prior to the start of the new season.  All teams will pay £30 to join for the season, which includes a donation of £10 to supply prizes for the Presentation Night raffle.  An additional payment of £1 for each registered player is also required at this time, please remember to add your Landlady if she wishes to play.  Each team must have a captain at the beginning of the season who can give their contact details to the Committee.

6.      Each team must sign on at least six players by name.  There is no upper limit.  Any new or additional player can be signed on at any time as long as their name and £1 are submitted to the Committee.  They must be signed on for at least twenty-four hours before their first game begins.

7.      Each team has been issued with a match treble board to play league games on – these boards remain the property of S.D.L.D.L and care should be taken to look after this equipment. The matches will be played as follows: three pairs of players will play the best of three legs at 401, followed by six single player games of three legs at 301.  A fixed oche must be put down.  Please ensure that your board is properly lit.

8.      The bull should be 5ft 8 inches from the centre of the board to the floor below, it should be 7ft 9¼ inches from the oche to the floor below the board and 9ft 7½ inches from the centre of the board to behind the oche.

9.      The home team will set for each leg first.  The home team will nominate a chalker for each game.  The dart tip judged by the chalker to be nearest the bull will be awarded the first throw of each leg.  The dart must be in play to count (if it misses the board or falls out, it must be thrown again).  If the chalker cannot decide the advantage, she must ask for the set to be done again.  Should both darts land in either twenty-five or in the fifty, they should be thrown again.  Darts should not be touched by the chalker whilst they are in the board.  The chalker’s decision is final.

10.  The board is to be ready for the visiting team by 8pm.  The draw must be done by 8:10pm, the match must start by 8:15pm.  All games should play in sequence to the draw, unless a change is agreed by both captains to accommodate shift workers etc.  A game can be claimed by a team if the other team are not ready at the correct time.

11.  All matches are to be played on Wednesday evenings.  Result sheets will be completed by the home team on the night and MUST be with the Chairlady or the Secretary by 12noon the following SATURDAY.  Failure to do this will result in a £5 fine to the home team.  If the sheet is not in by the following WEDNESDAY the fine will be DOUBLED.  Should the sheet not arrive for another week, the captain of the home team will be asked to give an explanation to the Chairlady and the Committee.

12.  All unresolved disputes must be reported as soon as possible to the Chairlady.

13.  Ladies under the age of sixteen will not be able to play.  Captains wishing to sign on players aged sixteen years to eighteen years must agree to take responsibility for them.

14.  All games will be chalked on an electronic scoreboard which is fixed to the wall near the dartboard.  If a game must be chalked on a blackboard or paper, the score of each set of darts must be written up.  All boards must be clearly visible to both teams.  All players are reminded not to remove their darts from the board until the score is agreed by the chalker, as mistakes cannot be rectified once they have been taken out.

15.  Any team arriving short of players can still play the game.  If there are five players, two double games can be played as usual, then one game of two against one, with the single player only having one turn on the oche, thus forfeiting a throw.  One single game will also be forfeited, but all names from the opposing team must got in the draw so that they bye will be given at random. There must be a minimum of four players for a game to go ahead. In this case, two games can be played against one player in the doubles or two proper games played and the third totally forfeited, then in the singles, two games forfeited.  If both teams play with five, this could end in a draw.  Should this happen, another singles game should be played to decide the result.  In the event that one team has ladies that have not played and a draw is needed, the captains can agree to take this into account and try to make sure as many ladies as possible get to play a game in the name of good sportsmanship.

16.  In the event of a tie at the end of the season for first or second place, a tiebreaker will be played on neutral ground.

17.  Any game that is stopped for any reason shall be played from where it stopped.

18.  Should it be necessary to postpone a match, the captain and the Landlady of the opposing team must be informed by 11am on the day the match should have been played.  Rearranged matches can be played on a free night.  If the match cannot be played, the team not wanting to postpone will be awarded two points and a 5-4 win.  Cancelling a game will result in the opposing team being awarded a 5-4 win.  The cancelling/postponing team must pay £5 or the food if cancellation is between 11am and 4pm.  If the cancellation is after 4pm £10 must be paid for the food.

19. Mobile phones must not be used whilst a player is playing or chaling a game.  Phones mu be on silent for the duration of the match or competition.  A fine of £5 s charged for a breach of this rule.

20.  There is only one vote per team at the AGM on any issue raised.  Each team will also be asked to vote once for a Chairlady, once for a Treasurer and once for a Secretary.  Votes will be asked for at least four committee members.

21.  The Agenda for the next AGM will be sent out to each team and committee member two weeks prior to the AGM.
